First In Math® FAMILY LINK™ for Schools | |||
The First In Math® Online Program’s FAMILY LINK feature involves family members in the process of their child’s education in a groundbreaking way. A family member becomes an engaged participant in the education process. Family Link provides students’ family members with an extra First In Math User ID/Password—enabling them to log on and play the games, learn and refresh math skills 24/7, just like students who are playing at school. Student and family member scores are combined for a Family Link total score, providing a mechanism for students and families to spur each other on to greater mathematics achievement. When a school or school district has access to the Family Link feature, one extra First In Math User ID/Password is made available via the student’s home page. Schools can earn Family Link through student participation! To qualify, schools must have 100 or more active student players, and an average of 400 stickers per student player. After FL is activated, it will remain active for the remainder of the existing license year. 1. Student logs on to the First In Math site with her User ID/Password. If Family Link is activated, student home page will display Family Link information on the lower, right portion of the page, in the player information column. 2. The family member User ID will already be displayed. To obtain the family member Password, move your mouse over the words "show password" and the ID will be revealed. 3. The student can write down the User ID and Password and give to family member.
Students: Your family member’s sticker count will appear on your home pagein the FL box. You will also see the Family Link total score. Family totals do not count toward student or classroom team rankings, only Family Link rankings. Teachers: Track Family Link participation by clicking the “Rankings” button. Family Members: When you get stuck, ask your student-partner for help! It’s a great way to encourage communication and help your child learn and gain confidence. If you need to learn how a game works, ask your student-partner or click the DIRECTIONS button |
