Game structure - Brief Overview

Form Classroom "Teams" of up to 36 students each to compete against each other, as well as other schools in their district and state! (Educators choose how much to emphasize the "team" and "competitive" aspects of the program). School, Disctrict/Area, School System, State and National Team Rankings are based on Average Stickers Per Student, so teams can compete independent of the number of students on a team. These rankings and can be tracked online by all program participants.

The Team Leader (Teacher) and Team Members (students) are issued unique User ID's and Passwords. Team Members log on to www.firstinmath.com and can immediately start to play the 24® game. They solve a specified number of game cards and earn electronic "award stickers" when they are successful. A record is kept of individual member and team progress. When Team Leaders log on they can track progress through customized online Assessment Reports.

Game play is organized by Skill Set® groups. Each group is comprised of three 24® game editions, labeled Game 1, Game 2 and Game 3. Each game builds upon the skills acquired in previous games. Players complete games in sequential order and will always be brought to the last game they were playing each time they log on. Team members will advance at different rates, according to their individual skill levels, but ALL players should experience improvement in numerical fluency, and increased speed.

Educators see student success!Teachers, principals and district administrators can track real-time progress of their students/classes/schools through customized online Assessment Reports. View reports in graphic or numeric format.

Special Features

The Show What You Know module provides an interesting and FUN way for students to experience the type of problems found in standardized tests. Power Jumps in every game allow a player who is proficient to quickly advance to the next level of challenge. There are four Workout Gyms where students get extra fact practice to pump up their math muscles! The "Factors" game teaches multiplication facts without memorization and boredom. Many other features, puzzles, bonus games and congratulatory messages are included to keep students excited and interested. (Some features become available only after certain milestones have been reached.)

Players can access information about their progress via their Scoreboard, which displays Team Sticker Counts and Top Players in various categories. They can also check their team's position in the Rankings by School, Disctrict/Area, State, Top 100 Players State, National and Top 100 Players National.
